It was going to happen eventually and well I'm glad I did it.  I took a Lt. Stone figure's Cobra Trooper armor and made a custom trooper and here it is.  Enjoy!

It was bound to happen.  From the moment I saw the armor I knew I'd be troop building Lt. Stone for Cobra Troopers.  What I didn't know was that I would be making custom figures instead of just using the Stone body.  I love the Firefly v.1 sculpt.  It has the same style of the Sigma suit but with enough flare that with some creativity it can look totally different.  So I used that as the base figure here and the armor fits incredibly well.  I had to cut the pegs off the forearm armor and glue them to the arms and the Firefly head had to get a hair cut for the helmet to fit but other than that, no modifications needed.  I used the Firefly head here since I wanted this to be an officer and not a regular trooper so the smirk works.  I'll be using a different head for the regular troops when I get those going so there will be some difference between them.  I considered using the traditional AK-47 for his main armament but didn't think it would look good with the modern stylings of the armor so I opted for the full stock MP-5 which has the modern look I wanted and still looks like a standard issue weapon.  I gave the officer the Firefly gun just to give him a little more flair than the troops.  Plus it just looks cool.  Overall I'm happy with this one.

Cobra Officers are taken from the ranks of the Trooper squads and given extra training.  Though they are still just a step up from the bottom rung of Cobra soldiers they take pride in achieving their position.  Culled from the most ruthless and cutthroat mercenary organizations in the world, Cobra Troopers are a nasty group and those that move up to Officers are the worst of the bunch.  But just because they haven't been accepted into the Viper Corps and are often used as "cannon fodder" doesn't mean they are unskilled.  Quite the contrary.  Since most are former soldiers from various nations armies they have military training in a wide variety of specialties.  Cobra Officers are often promoted into the Viper Corps and given more specialized training.  That is if they survive long enough to be noticed by the Cobra hierarchy.
