Rock 'n Roll is probably my favorite character with Snake-Eyes and Torpedo fighting for the #2 slot.  I wanted to make a Sigma 6 figure of RnR but felt the full beard and long hair just didn't fit in the S6 universe.  So I went to the Devil's Due G.I. Joe Reloaded series for inspiration.  While not entirely recreated here, I took some of the look of the Reloaded RnR for my S6 figure.

Paint: Testors Model Masters light ghost gray, Model Masters steel, Model Masters chrome trim, flat black
Accessories: Duke gun belt, switchfire guns and rifle, knife, grenades, goggles / Snake-Eyes v1 web harness

The first thing I wanted to do with this figure was alter the head to give him a different look from Duke.  So using the DDP Reloaded Rock 'n Roll as inspiration I jumped headfirst into my first foray into sculpting and molded a small beard on his chin.  Next I changed up the hair with more Sculpey, boiled the head to firm it up and painted it with a custom mix yellow color to get that bleached blonde surfer look that RnR (in all versions) should really have.

Next, as I'm keeping him a SEAL like in Reloaded, I painted his Sigma suit to match Torpedo's with the gray covering Duke's gray trim.  I added black boots with steel accents to give him that ass-kicker commando look and the modifications were done.

Equipping him was a bit of a challenge at first but after grabbing the web harness from v1 S6 Snake-Eyes (because he really looks kinda funny with it) the rest fell into place.  I wanted to try to redo the left holster to better hold the knife but couldn't really find a good way to do it.  I painted Duke's goggles silver to give RnR that badass rocker look.

Rock 'n Roll was the typical West Coast surfer in southern California's trendy Malibu.  He surfed all day and partied all night until his girlfriend was killed in a robbery gone bad.  When the investigation turned up the fact that the killer was part of a gang known as the Dreadnoks who worked for a world-wide terrorist organization, McConnell enlisted in the military.  His love of sand and surf pointed him to the one branch of the military that fit his personality  -  the Navy.  McConnell spent years training and working towards his goal of revenge on everyone involved in the murder of his girlfriend  and was eventually accepted into the elite Navy S.E.A.L.s.  He excelled in his training and missions and showed an aptitude for covert operations and "wet work".

It was his performance with S.E.A.L. Team 5 that brought him to the attention of Sigma 6 leader General Abernathy.  Rock 'n Roll's covert ops training was ideal for Sigma 6 however he was reluctant to leave the "teams".  That was until he learned that the mandate of Sigma 6 was to track down and eliminate Cobra, the terrorist organization that the Dreadnoks worked for.   He jumped at the chance to finally get close to the men that killed his girlfriend.

Assigned to the Sigma 6 Sea Ops Unit, under Chief Torpedo, Rock 'n Roll serves as the units infiltration expert.  He is not fond of Torpedo, blaming him for the loss of an entire team of SEALs under Torpedo's command.  However Rock 'n Roll has learned to put his personal feelings aside in favor of getting the mission accomplished.  He is a professional and does his job extremely well.  His personality is cold and distant and he rivals only Snake-Eyes for broodiest team member but he is always the first to show up when a team member is in trouble.  Rock 'n Roll hasn't given up on finding his girlfriend's killer but he puts the team and their mission first.
